Everest and battery use

Post by BML » Sun May 02, 2010 8:51 am

Hello everyone,

I have seen many positive reviews of the Everest ON CPAP.COM. I am just wondering if any of you have experience with the Everest using the battery pack. My pressure is currently 14 and I would carry the everest and a battery pack into the woods for overnight backpacking.. I miss it too much.

Last year, I cheated one night (no CPAP) and getting back out there was great. In the past week, I took off my mask early on in the night (congested) and somehow never put it back on and I FELT MISERABLE the next day. I think the longer I am on CPAP therapy the harder it is to go without my trusted friend to make it through the night. But, I would live to be able to go backpacking again.

So
1) do any of you use the Everest with the battery pack?
2)Will I make it through the night at a pressure of 14 with one battery pack
3)Will I tolerate a pressure of 14-15 without the humidifier? Though I could use it passively if necessary... just more stuff to carry into the woods.

Thanks for your input.

Bernard

Sounds interesting Bernard I have no experience with the unit, but, is there a solar recharger available? Maybe that could help you extend your trips??

Good luck!

Cheers,

Dave

Re: Everest (or similar CPAP) and battery use. going backpacking

Hello again,

park_ridge_dave: Thanks, I don't need solar power just a battery and small CPAP unit to carry into the woods for an overnight or 2 night trip.

I guess no one has experience with the Everest and its battery pack?

Do any of you use a similar travel CPAP with a battery? From my research the Everest appears to be the only one with a small battery enclosed in the unit. The Intellipapp looks interesting and has a few more features but would require carrying the CPAP.com battery case. I am willing to carry an extra 6 pounds or so to give me the freedom to backpack but would appreciate any comments on travel CPAPs (read small and portable.. and hopefully lighter) and battery usage with these units (autonomy at a pressure of 14-15). Again, thanks for any input.

Have you tried the "Advanced Search" function - located at the top of each forum page?

It appears much has been written about the Everest - you can narrow the results by adding another word to "Search These Results" then another and another -
search.php?keywords=everest&terms=all&a ... mit=Search
