Is My Mask Too Small?

Post by tootiredtocare » Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:35 pm

When I was fitted for an Ultra Mirage FF, and the DME told me that I would need a small mask, I was skeptical. I honestly have never been a small anything, but I listened to her. I have worn the FF two nights, and both nights, it seems that the mask just barely covers the corners of my mouth, pushes my nose up into the upper part of the mask so that it seems to push down on my nostrils some, and my bottom lip has fallen out of the bottom both nights. So, needless to say, cotton mouth from you know where. I have also had pretty bad headaches when I have woken up and am achy in the back of my neck and head, like I used to be when I snored really bad. I have to use a FF because of sever allergy and sinus trouble.

Sounds like it's too small. My husband uses the Medium but tried the Small and had some of the same problems. He's a Medium by barely a 1/4" according to careful measurements and not just eyeballing, but it makes a difference.

Here is a link with info on how to get the mask fitting templates for the Ultra Mirage Full Face:

Call you DME and request a proper mask fitting, and a new mask. Resmed has a 30 day exchange policy, which they should honor.
