Question about Card Readers

Post by JCJXXL » Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:22 pm

Just curious, where can I get a card reader to read the data from my CPAP machine? I checked CPAP.com but didn't see any specific for my machine. I'd like to be able to remove the card and download the information to my computer.

Thanks!

You need an Infineer DT3500. It's the only card reader that works with the SmartCards in the M Series machines and the EncorePro or EncoreViewer software. I have one for sale on cpapauction.com right now. I won't link to it directly as I'm not here to push anything on forum members, but you can go there and easily find it in the Therapy Tracking/Card Readers section, or search for one in Google. I think that many here have tried other brands of readers without success, I know that I have, so save yourself some trouble and get the Infineer the first time!

Hi,

There are card reader and software bundles available for M-Series machines. I don't know off hand where they are on the cpap.com site. If you cannot find it, send them an E-mail or give them a call. I recall that it was just over $100 or so. The reader plugs into a USB port, and it ran fine on my older XP machine. I hear that newer O/S versions and 64-bit machines have issues, so you might have better luck with a little older computer.

XCJXXL, as John mentions, you will also need the appropriate software for this reader and card. I believe this is Encore Pro - it is for me - but I'm no techie, and am willing to be corrected on this point. The card reader won't be of any use without the software (at least, I don't imagine so!).
