Whats the difference
Whats the difference
I use an umff with the standard medium cushion and found(on another sight) these medium shallow cushion on sale. What makes them shallow? Thanks in advance
Re: Whats the difference
The skirt walls are not as wide from front to back; i.e. the mask frame sits closer to your face. It reduces the contained volume of the mask. Other than more efficient purging during exhale, I don't know what the advantage is. But some people must prefer them or they wouldn't sell.

Re: Whats the difference
They were quite a bit cheaper and since I do not have insurance and have to pay for all my supplies out of pocket I will give it a shot. Thanks
Re: Whats the difference
Ah! Apparently they DON'T sell very well!
Never tried one, but I'm guessing people with large noses may not be able to use a shallow cushion.

Re: Whats the difference
Link - not true at all (you haven't seen my nose have you), though where the 'bigness' is might matter. I use a small shallow and the difference is as much in the bridge width and depth (according to a Cpap.com phone conversation) as anything.
