Oh no, Polident Strips discontinued!

As an American, I would normally say to blame Canada, but GlaxoSmithKline is a British company.

Thanks Jan. As it is he is trying a 'new and improved' chin strap, picking it up today. Found some packing tape around the house & has been using that until now with moderate success - Polident seems to be the only thing that contains his epic drooling! He finds it strange, he never believes the therapy is working until he cannot use it, and then realises how much value it has. Typical, I guess, of a lot of things!

As it is, a very kind soul offered to send some over - and thank you again - but he'd like to see how the chin strap goes first. I suspect it'll not be enough.

We don't have Walmart here, but I did check it out when in Atlanta a few years ago - very comprehensive!

I imagine we can order it over the internet, either from Japan or the US, just need time to investigate & sort it out!

Update - and thanks for all the above advice.

My son has trialled a $30 chin strap - he believes it is a "seanet". It covers the mouth area completely. Also has the added benefit that it's a one-off cost.

Was a RAGING success - no mouth breathing, no drooling, no tape or polident required. Only been one night, but he's very happy, although has severe strap mark issues to resolve, but that's no biggie.

May be that others can try this also if you find similar difficulties.

Walmart has good deals and is very popular,
but they usually kill the competition so bad that small local businesses go out of business.

I addition they censor the music they sell,
they are stongly anti-union,
don't have benefits, don't pay very well.
You can find a lot of stuff about them online.

Sam Walton was the richest man in America for a long time.
Then that Gates kid came along.

"Evil" is in the eye of the beholder.
I work for a pharmaceutical company so I can't throw stones.

I hate Walmart. The company was started by Sam Walton, a smart man with a big vision. The motto of the company used to be "Buy American" (meaning buy American-made goods). Sam Walton is likely spinning in his grave these days, since about 70% of Walmart's goods are now made in China. Walmart is the single biggest offender when it comes to the trade imbalance between the U.S. and China.

The company is taking over the country, running every small mom-n-pop business on Main Street into the ground. Their corporate practices are disgusting - pitting manufacturers against one another to make the cost of goods literally half a penny less than the other guy's, and forcing these small businesses to make their goods so cheaply in order to do business with Walmart that they end up having to go overseas to lower labor costs. Walmart is BAD for the U.S. economy.

They're also awful to their employees and run the company like a cult. The truth about Walmart is out there. Check out the PBS (Public Broadcasting System) documentary Frontline: Is Walmart Good for America? or Walmart: The Real Story or Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price or Walmart Sues Debbie Shank. That last link is a heartbreaking story, but by no means the only one of its kind. There's plenty more where those came from... Evil company.

I'll probably get flamed now, because lots of people shop there and/or love Walmart. I understand times are tough and people need to save money whenever possible, and Walmart appeals to people for just that reason. It's such a huge corporation that they can buy in massive quantities and offer lower prices. But what is it that people are really buying into by shopping there? A faltering U.S. economy.

I'm having tough financial times, too, but I won't give one thin dime to this corporation. If I shopped at Walmart, my conscience would keep me up nights, and then I could add insomnia to my sleep apnea problems. No, thanks.
