What is value of using ResScan program?

Post by Guest » Sat Sep 06, 2008 8:03 am

I am able to get AHI, AI, HI and Leakage from my units results panel now, so what would I gain from the purchase and use of ResScan 3.5 and a Card Reader? Is the expense worth it? I'm new to all this but want to take an active role in management of my condition. Also thanks to all on this forum as you have provided information that allowed me to tap into the machines various readouts. I am now able to get data that the DME said it could not do. Seems the DME and the equipment rep like to keep users in the dark and coming back to them with the data card for periodic readouts. I don't want to be letting them tell me what they think I should or should not know.... kind of goes against my grain. Thanks again.

With the software you will be able to tell if a leak caused pressure to go up, or if pressure going up caused a leak. You will be able to see what pressure allowed events and what pressure didn't. You will be able to tell if snores drove pressure higher. you will see just what your leaks are, not just an average. The more data you get, the better you can tweak your treatment, the better you will feel.

Sorry, I posted this question as a Guest in error... part of being new to the forum & how it works.
The fact remains that I want to get a better handle on my treatment and results. Thanks.

Aside from the reasons already provided, I like to use the data to assess effectiveness of a new mask, adjustments to that mask, and most of all to know that the way I feel correlates to therapy.
