Turn off / dim M Series lights?
Turn off / dim M Series lights?
Just got an M series apap with aflex and I'm finding that those 3 lights on the top of the machine are practically bright enough to read a novel by. I can't find anything in the manual to say how to dim or turn them off. I think that my old Remstar Pro had an option to turn them off but they weren't very big nor bright so I left them on. These big blue lights are really annoying!!
Thanks.

Yup, definitely design flaw. I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

Yep, a sock does work! Only problem with the sock is when you try to find the right button when you are half asleep and don't want to drop the sock because you would have to turn on the lights to find it. Jeff posted the link a while back thinking maybe a major manufacturer would notice it. Interesting!frapilu wrote:Yup, definitely design flaw. I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

Martian Death Rays?
I remember reading many posts hereabouts about the bright blue lights on the M series, so I was prepared for some Blue Lightning Rays to burn a hole in my ceiling.
Turns out (and I'm probably in a minority here) that I actually like the blue lights. For my peculiar case, it's not too bright, and it makes a handy night light that doesn't wake me too much if I do get up during the night.
I'm not exactly a light sleeper though. A couple of AFLEXian whiffs from Mister Mask, and I'm a goner.

Jerry - Good article. I wish manufacturers would read it because, all those lighted-up things annoy me but some more than others. My electric toothbrush isn't too bright so it does actually function as a night-light in the bathroom. My laptop, an HP, has the little light turn off when it's charged so that's ok. The apap, however, is really annoying.
Captain Midnight -- I'm glad someone likes them but I hope you're never asked to participate in a survey from Respironics on likes & dislikes
Thanks

Bill -- yes, a setting to adjust the brightness would be a good thing.

I am another that doesn't mind the blue lights. I wonder why people find them so annoying. It isn't like they are beacons or something.
Mine are near my head and I don't have a problem with them.

I'm with the captain ... they don't bother me at all. Seems everybody is fussy about something
Of course my machine actually sets up about 15 inches higher than my bed pillow so I don't get the direct light in the face.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
I just wondered where you heard that. I did not know they even thought it was a problem. Last time I contacted them about it they told me they were nessary for dianogistic purposes. ( I think thats what they said) Surely they did not get any information off this board.crossfit wrote:I hear the new ones are going to be able to turn off.

Wouldn't bother me at all......I actually sleep with my eyes closed. Blue is my favorite color and as I just mentioned in another thread/post, I used to sleep with my old Pioneer stereo on and it had blue lights (among others).....what a night light!!!
