It sure as heck does!!! Were you given any reason why? What has the state of California done? What legislation and why?

It may not necessarily be a "legislation" issue.......most of those kinds of decisions are made at the state insurance department levels. Either some criteria changed or somebody's playing politics.......would be my guess.Slinky wrote:It sure as heck does!!! Were you given any reason why? What has the state of California done? I got the same message yesterday as well. When I emailed them, they gave a little clarification but not much:
"Due to circumstances beyond our control,
government regulations will not allow us to continue to provide cpap
equipment and supplies to patients in California and a number of other
states. I can assure you that everything that can be done, has been
done. It is a sad thing for us as well, as we are losing many, many
patients. It has nothing to do with your insurance."
Looks like it's not just California.

I contacted my State Senator.....not those two clowns Boxer or Finkstien. I also contacted my Congressman Filner his office and State Sen Duchaney are looking into it. I talked to my Insurance and they said that as far as they were concerned Cpap.com was a preferred provider.
So now lets wait and seen what happens.

Since when does the State of California start enacting new laws in April? Must have been some law enacted Jan 1 we didn't know about, looks like the doctors and their lobbyist won.
I found this on another site:
I found this on another site:
Now Respironics is dictating where we buy our equipment, good thing i don't need to buy any more of their crap.Manufacturer's Note: Respironics recommends that new patients purchase their devices, masks and initial accessories from a homecare company that can provice an individualized patient equipment set-up, clinical and after-sales support, and a program to assist patients with therapy success.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Uh, a recommendation is not a dictation. I would be surprised if any medical equipment manufacturer didn't recommend that you get your equipment professionally sold and serviced.Snoredog wrote:Since when does the State of California start enacting new laws in April? bill my insurance
Hello fellow Cpap users. I got a letter from billmyinsurance.com also saying they were no longer able to supply my supplies. I looked around on the internet for another company and found a place that said they were still able to ship supplies to all 50 states. I haven't received my first order yet so I will let you know how that goes but they seem to know what they are doing. It's worth looking into if you are still looking for a provider. There website is http://www.rxstat.net. Good luck to you all.
Got my email today and i live in michigan.. sounds like they lost a TON of business due to this. I wish they would tell us what happened. Sounds kinda shady that they won't explain it. Noone has more control over legislation than the people, but our hands are tied if we don't know what to argue about.
I just got the same E-Mail.
Add North Carolina to the list.
It's a damn shame, too. I was very
happy with their service and support. At least I've got my machine and mask though. I'll probably need nothing but filters for a while.
If anyone from BillMyInsurance is reading this, thanks for what it was, and good luck wherever it leads you!
