from what I have read around here it is best to also buy the software...i also understand that there are different softwares for practitioners and I would assume that as a patient you can only buy the patient version...anyway ...what do you advice me...I want to but a respironics apap with A flex...

The software you'd want to buy for downloading the detailed data from that machine is:

Encore Viewer

You'll also need a DT3500 card reader to read the Smart Card.

The Encore Viewer software gives the same fully detailed data...same graphs, same charts, same AHI info, etc., ...as the Encore Pro software the practioners use.

Hope your treatment goes well, rux! You've picked out a very good, very comfortable-to-use machine, imho.
