Which is the correct name for this machine so I can ask my doctor to prescribe it?
Remstar Auto M with A-flex
REmstar Pro Auto w/ A-flex
REmstar M series Auto w/A-flex
I see so many different names, I'm not sure. Thanks

You really shouldn't be asking for a Remstar M Series anything. The machine you will want your doctor to scribe would be a ResMed Vantage S8. Goodluck.

I'm no expert, but I think your last description was about right.

I'm using the same machine with C-Flex, and I'm very happy with it.

You should specify "With heated humidifier" as well. Gotta have it.

Then the tough part, choosing a mask!

Good Luck,
Lyle

Which is the correct name for this machine so I can ask my doctor to prescribe it?
Remstar Auto M with A-flex
REmstar Pro Auto w/ A-flex <- this is wrong, two machine names combined in one, the Pro is not an auto, though it does collect excellent data.
REmstar M series Auto w/A-flex That's the one.

What Den said!

If you can get it before March 31, you'll save some money.

The name as written on the top of the machine itself is:

Respironics REMstar Auto|A-flex M series

The name as written at Respironics' website
http://remstarautomseries.respironics.com/
is:

REMstar Auto M Series with A-Flex

If I were going to tell a doctor what I wanted written on a prescription for that machine, so that there could be no question in the DME's mind exactly what machine the doctor was prescribing, I'd ask that the Rx be written like this:

If I wanted the integrated humidifier with it --
Respironics M series REMstar Auto with A-flex and Smart Card and integrated heated humidifier (DS510SH)

If I did NOT want the integrated humidifier with it (i.e. wanted a different brand of separate heated humidifier) --
Respironics M series REMstar Auto with A-flex and Smart Card (DS510S)
Fisher & Paykel HC 150 heated humidifier

Those "DS" numbers come from here:
http://remstarautomseries.respironics.com/Parts.aspx

Personally, I'd want the prescription done the second way... with the separate Fisher & Paykel humidifier. I would not want the M series integrated humidifier -- not even the recently "improved" one. The M series humidifier's water chamber does not hold anywhere near as much water as the F&P does.
