Actor Died of Apparent Sleep Apnea

Post by WearyOne » Sun Dec 09, 2007 3:34 pm

I was looking up some actors from a movie I saw this afternoon. I found out the main actor was born not far from where I live---and died this past summer just shy of his 35th birthday. I couldn't believe it when I found out the probable reason why...

Chaney Kley Minnis, an actor who played roles in television episodes of The Shield, CSI, Las Vegas and Cold Case, thrived on drama....The 34-year-old died July 24 of an apparent breathing problem while sleeping at his at home in Venice, Calif. His father said he likely died of sleep apnea. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/o ... 69,00.html

So young, apparently active, not overweight, and engaged to be married. It just strikes home how important it is to get a sleep study if you have any concern at all that you may have OSA, and get and use xpap if you do have it.

Pam

WearyOne I am sadened to hear that this young man had to die so young and from SLEEP APNEA I bet they kept him working so much that he didn't have the time for a sleep study, maybe even knowing that he needed one. It's terrible for his family and feonsa to. Of all things to die from at that age "SLEEP APNEA" . The media and the doctors need to be more educated on this disorder so that other people can get diagnosed and live longer! Thanks for posting

I just passed this clip on to all my non-cpap friends. Maybe it will help someone see how serious this is and seek treatment.

ancy again. (Trying to not use that N word.)

Anyway.... I just had an idea... since sleep apnea is so underdiagnosed why don't we send her a cpap... she could have to the problem and not even be aware of it.

Could be that is what was responsible for that comment to begin with.... effects of low O2 on the brain.

Could also be just pure old stupidity..... in which case it would be just a waste of a good cpap.

Sorry.....that would be "illegal"......providing a medical device without a prescription.

One of you could go get a job at CNN and work you way up to her news editor and make her do a story on Sleep Apnea which would include a sleep study as part of the research. THEN, once she "is" diagnosed, we will make her deal with some of our evil DMEs.

Maybe ancy Grace would quit being so bitchy if she would go get a sleep study...FWIW.
