Please do not sleep with the mask on your face and the machine off. It's bad for your health.
The machine/tube werent plugged, i think i just forgot it but i could breathe normally but i did mouthbreath a bit before waking up, after 40 min 15-20 min mouthbreathing

It might help you to know that it's completely normal to wake up multiple times during the night. You may or may not remember these awakenings. People often wake up after a period of REM sleep, and the timing of your wake-ups suggests that this may be what you're experiencing.

The problem isn't the wake-up; it's the fact that you don't roll over -- with your mask on and machine running -- and go back to sleep. Are you continuing to use the machine during the day/evening in order to get used to it better?

Yes, it feels like as if i can't breath no matter the pressure when asleep and i wake up abruptely. It might be related due to how the mask fit: is it supposed to be this "tight" around nostril? Like when i wear it, my nostrils lose 50% of their width. It seems irritating when i'm awake but i just tell myself that i will forget about it when i sleep, but it might be one of the reason i wake up? I will keep trying otherwise i will ask during the appointement because waking up like this never happened to me chronically while being conscious (only if i ate something bad or slept on my back etc)

Hello,

I wanted to ask there if there was any harm in making the APAP to CPAP mode for a few days? Sleeping with the machine is very hard and borderline impossible due to the fact that pressure keep going up/and down even with the ramp on/off. Like 1 min it goes from 4 to 5, the next it increase, then it increase, then it decrease a bit alongside disturbing noise that just keep increasing/decreasing making falling asleep hard

I checked the manual of the machine and there is no way to force the "ramp" to stay at a specific pressure untill the ramp is done. Would switching to the CPAP mode benefit me? Disabling the ramp and making it 7-8 through the whole night. As OSCAR doesnt really show more than 1 event a hour with 7-8 on average maybe it would make it easier to get used the therapy?

We have no way to know if it would help or not but it is sure worth trying.
Lots of people actually prefer (and use) fixed mode for any number of reasons and that's okay.

IMHO....you should use and/or try ANYTHING that helps you get to sleep and stay asleep.
Without sleep none of this stuff matters much.

Get to the point where you can say you slept all night with the mask and machine on and THEN worry about any little tweaking of things....if even needed.

I could never use the machine past an hour without waking up and remove it consciously. I heavily suspect its due to the mask or the settings, well even "losen up" its hard to breath through the nasal mask (without the machine or anything plugged on) so that might be one of the reason?

Its like my nostril are half closed when i put the mask, just putting the mask normally very loose. Its M size aka standard tho, i recieved the paper with it to check for the size and the L fit is 20% wider than my nose

Testing the mask and hose without connecting them to the machine will not tell much about how you feel when the machine is working.

How many masks have you tried in the month that passed since you last posted?

No. Masks aren't designed to fit tightly. There is a sweet spot between too loose and tight. You might try watching some fitting and adjusting videos on YouTube.com. Find videos on your exact model.

Sorry if this has already been covered, have you had your airway examined by an ENT? It's always a good idea for people with obstructive sleep apnea.

And furthermore mask fitting has to be done when the pressurized air is blowing in
Any fitting you do without pressurized air is bound to be too tight,
You machine has a mask fit option. Use it when trying the things you learn from the videos!

I will try. And examinated just quickly with an endoscopy

Its rather troublesome to sleep with 7 pressure even with EPR off or 1 as the air seems "cold" and when i remove the mask, i start feeling extremely thirsty despite no leak (while awake btw). I will try again with the ramp i believe. 4-5 seems to be the only setting i can sleep with

Hopefully you will be able to wear your mask looser and be more comfortable. For me, if a mask pushes on a certain area on the sides of the nose, it feels like I'm blocked with congestion when I know it's just the mask. Simply cannot wear a mask that fits wrong in that way. Usually a slight shift in placement resolves it. Sometimes getting this therapy optimized can be discouraging. Please know that getting off to a rough start is not an indicator of if you'll be able to be successful. This may have already been covered and I missed it, but when awake do you mouth breathe or is your nose open enough to breathe through it?
