Hi
I was measured as on the border between small and medium.
A small F30i was suggested and I used it for a few months but it always felt like it was “squishing” my face in the horizontal plane???
Each night I was very restless and constantly adjusting it and thus very little actual sleep. Often zero events which I attribute to being awake…and smile face symbol for leaks.
So I ordered myself a small wide and it’s much more comfortable and I’m actually asleep. But now 0.5 is my new normal with the small wide… still smile face symbol for leaks.
Of note I haven’t ever had actual Apnea only hypo events on testing. However my shallow mouth breathing was causing nocturnal hypertension
My question is it possible that small wide is effective even though I’m showing more events than before? With my small regular I saw 0.2 once all others 0.
I sleep alone so I can’t ask anyone if it’s leaking or loud.
Of note with my small regular I have woken myself up with a snort and yet it shows 0 events??
Hope this isn’t too confusing and greatly appreciate any insight.
My auto settings are 5-20 and apparently the highest it has gone is to 8.

Re: In Between Mask Size/ Increased Number of Episodes
If you're sleeping better, great. There's absolutely nothing wrong with an AHI of .5. Chasing 0's is futile.
Snoring isn't the same as an obstructive event.

If you are sleeping well with that low AHI..Ignore the leaks.

Okay good - I will continue with my small wide mask that is more comfortable
Not even sure if I believe the 0.0 when using the small regular as I think I was just awake
Thanks for the reassurance much appreciated

you can have 0 while awake. in fact, most of my 0 ahi has come during the worst sleep i've ever had. just meant my airway was wide open, is all.sunnyinsaskatoon wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:19 pm
