Nature abhors a vacuum. I think this is their first new product since the original design, so the lesson learned is to address the life cycle of earlier products when announcing new ones, else folks will fill in the frog DNA and end up with a velociraptor instead of an herbivore.jlsmithseven wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:06 amI reached out and he said they’re not discontinuing it. Re: bleep changed?
I think that people assumed that the "sales" offered were an indication of it being discontinued because past history with other masks is we see them offered at a discount right prior to official discontinuing.jlsmithseven wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:06 amI reached out and he said they’re not discontinuing it. At least that is my own thought on how the rumor started.....the same thing did cross my mind so I decided to just go to the source and ask.
My last question to Stuart was if he had an date for the Eclipse being offered on Amazon. Haven't heard back on that yet.

Jurassic park quoting fits in nicely here. That’s what happened. I just think so many people are excited about the new design that many don’t think what about the old design that does work for some people just fine. Same with those Quattro masks I see everyone still using from 20 years ago. When something works and you’re used to it , no reason to change. But yeah, the new Halos seem nice and not having anything protruding from your nose is a big plus, and I love magnets.

Magnets are cool.
Just remember that rare earth magnets (if those are used) are dangerous,
and should be kept away from children.
Disposal/recycling is tantamount--never leave them lying around.

Re: bleep changed?
So, I called a bunch of places. Local places had never heard of Bleep. A couple of bigger places had heard of it. One could order Dreamport but said, "We don't bill insurance for it." This was a national company.

Re: bleep changed?
Assholes...They get paid the same from insurance as they would for any other nasal mask.
But I understand...that's what you get when you deal with assholes.
There are a few online suppliers who will bill a person's insurance for the Bleep/Eclipse but they may not take your particular state supplied insurance.
Which national company? You can say the name here. I need to put them on my "never recommend them to do business with" list.

Re: bleep changed?
If anyone wants to try the Bleep or Eclipse and willing to pay out of pocket...just use SureSeal at the Bleep website....it's the fastest and cheapest place to get the mask.
They aren't going to file insurance and wait for insurance to pay though.

My plan for after the first of the year with my new insurance is to try Aeroflow since they will file insurance.
Hopefully the new insurance is in network.

Re: bleep changed?
I saw the Aeroflow uses insurance , will they cover it do you think or do you need Medicare?
Re: bleep changed?
They will need to verify with the insurance that medically I have a prescription for cpap/supplies that makes the item(s) "covered".jlsmithseven wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 1:24 pmI saw the Aeroflow uses insurance , will they cover it do you think or do you need Medicare?
Anytime you change a provider like going from Crapria to Aeroflow or whatever....the supplier takes the information and then they contact the insurance company to verify both coverage and the medical reason I am using whatever. Exact requirements to satisfy that the supplier will get paid is probably going to vary a bit with the particular insurance. This might be where the "need a new copy of the RX" thing might come into play...example some insurance may want a RX within past couple of years and another might be happy with a "lifetime" RX.
Also they will need to verify "in or out of network" stuff.... or maybe like some BlueCross (maybe others) want an annual "compliance" report...but someone else might not care. They might have the same idea that I have which is "who in their right mind would be buying and using this stuff if they didn't need it"...
But then again maybe they just want their insurance to buy something so they can go sell it on EBAY...
When I tried Nationwide for the Bleep....I met the medical need easily with my "lifetime" script but my insurance (medicare advantage plan) at the time was out of network. So Nationwide didn't seem to care how old my RX was....May 2009...and the only RX I have have got.
Aeroflow accepts Medicare insurance and a lot of others.
I have a Medicare Advantage plan (new this Jan) which I need to see if Aeroflow has a contract with and are in network.
So my options
1...just pay out of pocket at the cheapest place I can find
2..or if I want to have my insurance pay for it and the supplier wait for the payment then I have to jump through the hoops the supplier and insurance provider might put up.
Also remember at some places a complete mask package purchase will require a RX to be on file
but it is really easy to buy each replacement part individually and bypass that requirement.
Anytime insurance is involved and people are wanting insurance to pay for something a RX is going to be involved....where it may not be required for self pay purchases.

I've been having trouble with Aeroflow's website and they haven't responded to my question about it. I'm in a link loop where one sends me to another that sends me back to the first.Pugsy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 12:52 pmIf anyone wants to try the Bleep or Eclipse and willing to pay out of pocket...just use SureSeal at the Bleep website....it's the fastest and cheapest place to get the mask.

Re: bleep changed?
FWIW I switched from Lincare to Aeroflow to get the Bleep and have it covered by Original Medicare and my medicare supplemental insurance. Aeroflow's onboarding process was easy and the Bleep supplies were delivered promptly.

Re: bleep changed?
I see the options at Sureseal. I've never tried Bleep so I don't want to buy the package. I just want to buy whatever I would absolutely need to see if it will work for me. What would that be?
Also, does a person really need all that stuff in the annual kit? The price is horrifying!

Re: bleep changed?
Yes, only give little children magnets that are too big to fit in their mouths, because they'll swallow two or more of 'em, (of course, it's not a problem if they only swallow one).chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 10:18 amMagnets are cool.
