And what record might that be,,,,, please be specific, where I've given bad or incorrect advice

Note to Pugsey: I did not start this personal and OFF-TOPIC attack. But since others are publically objecting to my off-topic private messaging, do I have any choice?

Note to iNeedis: Sorry about the distraction.

Once a new person knows about private message box and the notification they will get when they have a PM I don't see the need to repeatedly go tell someone that they have a private message.
In fact I don't even tell anyone until I have sent a PM and the person hasn't opened it.

So I suggest that people stop announcing "you've got a PM" and that will surely shut up the choir with their comments.
Just send a PM and wait and see if it gets read or not before posting it here and stirring up the pot with the people who have nothing better to do than what I saw going on here.

Grow up folks. You all outdid yourselves with the childish crap here.

I do PMs all the time but I don't go announcing it to the world every time. It's no one's business but mine and the person I sent the PM to.

Don't give the children a reason to attack. No one here announces PMs on the forum except maybe Julie and she usually limits it to one announcement.
It's not needed or called for anyway. The only time I ever publicly tell someone to look in their PM box is if I send it and they don't respond and I check and they haven't even read it because it's still sitting in the outbox.

I know you didn't start it and it sure got way out of hand real fast. Some people just don't have anything else better to do I guess.
I will try to remember to clean up the thread later and remove all the OT horse crap being repeated over and over.

So my third night with nasal pillows felt a lot more comfortable and normal to sleep with. Only problem I’m having is I wake up in morning with one nostril feeling stuffed. My leaks were low so not sure if I was getting air pressure or not in that nostril?

Any chance that you are on your side and the stuffed up nostril is the side that happens to be down?
If so, google "nasal cycle".
I get it every so often myself. Not related to cpap or apnea.

I was sleeping on my side so this could be it! Maybe I should turn up my humidity settings as well? Also one more question. If I have my mouth wide open with nasal pillows, does this affect leaks? Like is it recorded on the OSCAR app as leaks? I am very surprised with myself as I have been using full face mask and definitely had my my mouth open, now using these nasal pillows I feel like I haven’t been opening my mouth…. Atleast I don’t think I am?

A leak is a leak no matter if it is opening the mouth leak or mask movement leak.
The machine can't tell the difference. If you were leaking from the mouth much it would show up as some sort of leak event.

A lot of people think that they mouth breathe and they don't. I thought so myself because my mouth was always dry and all that (pre cpap) but what I was doing was gasping for air that way because of the apneas I was having.
Stop the apneas and I stopped opening my mouth so much. The people that have serious issues with mouth breathing are often the people who just have chronic nasal issues even during the day.

BTW a little bit of mouth opening leak isn't the end of the world. It all depends on how big of a leak or how far you go into large leak territory and how long it lasts. 10 minutes of big leak I just shrug my shoulders no matter what caused it.
Half the night in big leak...then I start trying to figure out what is going on.

You can try a little more moisture if you wish but usually if it is the humidity (either too little or too much) that is causing nasal congestion then both sides of the nose will be affected and not just one side. When it's one side....very common for it to be the nasal cycle.
I don't always have it but when I do it is highly annoying but about all you can do is turn on the other side for a bit.

Thanks pugsy. What would you say is normal maximum
Leak per minute? I’ve been having about 4 leaks per minute. Is that okay?

I’m not anywhere near as knowledgeable as Pugsy and others, but 4L/min is fine. Others will correct me if I am wrong.

BTW, leaks in this scenario are measured in liters per minute, not leaks per minute. Anything over 24 L/min is considered a large leak, so you are doing well with an average of 4L/min.

It comes down to comfort for a quality sleep. An occasional large leak that does not wake you up may be acceptable to some. Others may find that a large leak wakes them up, so it is unacceptable. As you get more used to using your machine you will find what works for you.

Strive for comfort and good sleep, not numbers. Numbers are indicators, not absolutes.

THIS can not be understated!
And so it is also with AHI numbers.
The goal is always healthy sleep that renews the body.
