"Large tongue base" sounds like an ENT saying "I will sell you a surgery you don't need and you can live with the side effects of cutting up your tongue for the rest of your life." Think it over a thousand times if anyone suggests surgery!

Scalpel-crazy surgeons quite often target apnea patients.
There are more crazy ways to mutilate a person for money than I can imagine.
Many of these "procedures" have been shown to be worse than useless.
Do not fall for the smooth talk.
Science is still looking for a cure for apnea.
Anyone outside the "establishment" claiming to have "found" it needs to be shown the door.

Hell no!!!! I'm not letting anyone take a knife to my anatomy to "fix" my apnea when it's so well treated with CPAP. My impression of most surgeries (not all) is a lot of pain and long term side effects with no guarantee of real improvement. What a doctor calls "success" from surgical intervention is a 50% reduction in AHI. I would still need CPAP, so what's the point???

I know of doctors who define success as when the check clears.
