Hose collapse at points of repeated flex

Hi all, I'm new here and came looking for advice.

My hose's inner lining separates from the outer support coil over the course of the first few weeks of use. It seems to be in places the bend or twist often, specifically right at the ends of the hose. I alleviated the issue on the machine end by turning the machine around so the hose did not pull over the top of the machine but the end connecting to my mask is still an issue. Once it has separated, any twist in the hose cases the inner liner to twist and collapse cutting off air.

Given circumstances, I've just bought myself a couple of cheap hoses online. Is there any way to modify the hose to reinforce it or otherwise stop this separation? The hose is otherwise in good condition.

Duct tape is used often...and vet wrap is also used (vet wrap is the stretchy wrap that sort of sticks to itself) I forget what it is called in the human tape area. Often it has some loud colors.

Ah, so my experience is common then? You'd think they would have fixed the hose design then. I'll see what I can find in the house to wrap it with.

I don't know how common it might be but it's happened enough we know to recommend duct tape or vet wrap.
I have been using cpap for 11 years come next month and I have never had it happen to me.
I had one hose with over 25,000 hours on it and gone through 3 machines with it and it was just as good as the first night I used it when it finally was retired.

Standard hose or Climate Line Heated Hose?? I use a standard hose for well over a year...even then they are in good shape and I use them to contain electrical cords.

I don't think your experience is common at all. I can't recall seeing any posts describing a hose wearing out so early.

My original ClimateLine hose is two years old, no signs of wear.

What type of hose do you have?
How often are you washing it?
How vigorously are you washing it?
Are you using an Ozone sanitizer, UV Bullet or CPAP hose brush?

Or you could have just gotten a lemon.

I would STOP Flexing the hose, normal use doesn't involve a lot of flexing, reroute the fose so it's not bent to extreems and secure it using a hose hanger. Jim

Not common at all. It did happen to me, on one hose, after about 5 years use.

Since it rarely happens, there's nothing to 'fix'.

I am relatively new to CPAP, won't hit my 10 year anniversary until November.
I have never worn out a hose.
My masks usually have a swiveling connection and I have grown accustomed to using a Sleepweaver featherweight 18" hose between my mask and my heated hose. Since I connect and disconnect the short hose a couple times a day, the connector wears out after about 6 months.
However no hose has ever exhibited your symptoms.
I also have used some sort of makeshift hose hanger since day one. The first was formed from a wire coat hanger, which I still have. Currently my headboard serves as a hose hanger.

The only time I have seen hose delamination was when I laid on the hose.
Please try not to do that.
