Lungs felt cold then burning after minutes of use
Lungs felt cold then burning after minutes of use
Last night while going to bed I put on my full face mask and turned on my Resmed Airsense 10. Within 5-10 minutes I felt a cold sensation in my lungs followed by burning irritation. Also a burning knot in the middle of my back. I don't think its my CPAP but was wondering if anyone had similar experience before? My pressure is set at 5-20 with auto ramp. Humidifier is also on auto. I've been using my CPAP for 3 months now and this is the first time this has happened. Having to use purified water due to not being able to find distilled.
Re: Lungs felt cold then burning after minutes of use
You don't need distilled, let alone purified... the whole point is to not let gunk (usually pinkish) collect in your hum. tank, but that can routinely be cleaned out with a Q=tip followed by vinegared water. Purified or bottled anything else except distilled is not a good idea. Just use tap water.
However... don't mean to panic anyone, but have you been tested for the virus? It is known to come on with strange symptoms different for many. If you have them again, you might want to ask your doctor about it.

Might be nothing. Might be something. I tend to ignore most one-time events but pay particular attention to recurring ones. Just me.
Preheating the humidifier might help if it was a nothing thing.
Otherwise, if I found weird sensations continued, ideas about asthma, COPD, or lung infection might start to form in my head if it was me. And anything remotely related to bronchitis, pneumonia, or other respiratory-infection sensations these days is worth noting, depending on other factors only you and your doc would know about. Anything out of the ordinary could easily trigger a quarantine at this point, just in case.

Some symptoms should not be ignored.
See/call your doctor.
Stay home---especially stay away from the elderly, infants, and anyone with autoimmune disease.
Wear a mask, and wash your hands.
