what else can I do???

Post by Susancpv1 » Sat Jan 18, 2020 11:00 am

]I've been using the CPAP for over a year with a 3 month break and I feel horrible. So, so tired and foggy-headed with dyspnea every day (heart is fine-- I've had it thoroughly checked). I have made adjustments in the pressure and the humidity. The machine says I am a rock-star -- I'm using it for 7-8 hours a night with 4-5 events/hour or less. Great mask seal. Aside from adjusting the pressure, what else is there to do? I am at my wit's end! My doctor is no help. Should I find a respiratory therapist? See a pulmonologist? Quit the CPAP? Ugh.

Hello, Susan. I will bet the experts can help you tweak your settings, but first you can do a couple of things to help them.

First, please reformat your Daily Page screenshots.

Turn off the pie chart. (File, Preferences, Appearance, uncheck pie box.)

Next, stack your charts like this:

Events
Flow rate
Pressure
Leaks
Snores
Flow limitations.

Be sure to fit them all into one screenshot. You can squish them a little by grabbing the gray horizontal bar that separates them and moving it up.

One other chore: could you fill out your profile so that everyone can see your machine and mask?

You may have made adjustments to your pressure, but you definitely still need more minimum pressure. Min 8..Max 20..Also, change the Ramp to AUTO.

were it me, i'd raise your minimum pressure. your not letting the machine do it's job by limiting that bottom pressure. up to at least 7 or even 8. this will untie your cpap and give it more of a fighting chance at your events.

good luck!

EDIT: by the way, it's always good to stay in one thread so we can see your history more easily.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

That's not very good, we like to see under 2.

As others have said, your pressure is too low, based on that one screenshot, I recommend setting pressure to min 9, max 20.

(That's based on looking at how the pressure changed throughout the night.)

Thank you, everyone! I'm so miserable, and all of these quick responses have given me a little hope! I am attaching the screenshot again of my data, per Miss Emerita's instructions. I really hope increasing my pressure helps. Also, I've added my machine/mask info. I've been worried that I have some kind of lung disease. haha (but not really haha).

That last chart is pretty much useless.

Please reference the 'how to' before posting another one.

Sorry. I posted three charts in the first post per the “how to” instructions. The last chart is per another user’s request. I’m a newbie to this and I’m just trying to get some help.

I was about to post the exact same thing, well, nearly. 9 months into usage, AHIs less than 2 most nights, min pressure 8 ( I have increased to 9 based on the replies here), still waiting for energy to happen. I make it through a sedentary workday and get home needing a nap before struggling out with the dog for 20 minutes. Any form of physical work, housework, attempting to paint parts of the outside of the house, need an hour or more recovery on the sofa, barely able to lift an arm. Heart is fine. Was on anti depressants and have successfully come off those two months ago.
Have not a clue how to go about getting data to post, will look into that.

Ok just re-read about not piggy backing on someone else’s thread, so I’m going to make my own.

Yup, and formatting the chart the right way gives us all we need in almost all cases, and it's a single, easy to do screenshot for you.

You really didn't do it the way the other user requested, if you go back and look.

Anyway, please follow that how to page, and you'll make it easier for us to help you.

This is what she asked: “Turn off the pie chart. (File, Preferences, Appearance, uncheck pie box.)

As far as I can tell, that’s what I did. If you think it’s a misinterpretation, then please let me know what I did wrong. As I said, I’m new to this board and am pretty desperate for help. Just telling me my screenshot is useless is frustrating.
