Folks...2 posts got started because he is a new account and couldn't see his first post because it wasn't showing up yet because it hadn't been approved yet.

I have been extremely ill and unable to even sit upright to approve new account posts until last night and I guess Carolyn didn't stop by either.
I tried to remove any duplicates but I guess I missed this one and another.

Give the guy a break please.

So sorry, Pugsy!

Did you get one of the respiratory bugs that are now circulating?

No. Actually one of the respiratory bugs would have been welcome compared to what I had which was really, really, really bad BPPV.
I have had it before but it's rare that it is this severe. Last time was 4 or 5 years ago that it was this bad.
I couldn't even lift my head one inch much less turn it or walk. I was alone when it hit and had to actually crawl on the floor to my phone to get help. Well actually wasn't even a crawl...it was sliding on my stomach across the room like a snake since I couldn't even raise my head up. Good thing I had cleaned the floor the night before. Took me over an hour to just maneuver myself off the bed down to the floor to start sliding. I may need to rethink where I charge my phone when I am alone. Took me over 2 hours to get to the phone which was maybe 20 feet, at the most, from the bed.

It hit when I lay down the night before...bam...and I hoped that I could sleep it off but I couldn't. I was fine and lay down in bed like I normally do and it hit immediately. I thought to my self "this is going to be ugly tomorrow" and I was right. I was able to sleep but it was still with me in full force the next morning and I had to do the snake thing to get to the phone to call for help.

Anyway...I am still not at 100% just yet but I can at least sit upright now and look at the computer and as long as I move carefully and slowly I can move without the house spinning wildly. Just spins a little which I can tolerate.
Try as I might...I have never been able to master the Epley thing on myself. And when it is so bad I can't lift my head one inch...not going to happen anyway.

I have had it twice in ten years - last time was last month - but not as bad as yours. The Epley maneuver works for me but takes a week to fix it. My personal care doc just told me that one of our local therapy places has a special tilting table that usually fixes it in one treatment. I will give them a try if it happens again. Hope you get better soon.

Hey Pugsy

So sorry to hear you have that horrible BPPV problem. Physical therapy cleared my vertigo in short order. The Epley treatment was a
miracle for me. Two sessions with coaching and instructions did the trick. Hope you find something that works for you. Take good care of yourself- you certainly deserve it
