Essential oils or VapoRub...

Post by DianeMDennis » Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:58 pm

Hi!

Would it be bad to put essential oils such as lavender or Vicks Vaporub on a cotton ball and gently tuck it into the space where the filters go? Or lay the cotton ball on top of the water chamber for the humidifier, something like that?

Thank you!!

Thank you! Dumb question maybe but... the air intake is where the filters are, correct?

Thank you again! :)

Yes, air intake is where the filter is.

Word of warning to everyone if you use essential oils....be careful and don't let it drop on your machine. I did and didn't notice it some time ago on one of my machines and it made an ugly spot on the machine that I just had to live it.
While it didn't affect function....it was ugly and I don't like ugly.

Also be careful if your night table is wood.

Thank you for the heads up! I wouldn't have thought of that and I do have a wood night table. :D

Put the cotton ball on something small and non-porous, like a doll tea saucer,
or a mis en place bowl.
I have used a stainless steel individual olive dish

I use a little porous stone designed for diffusing essential oils and set it outside of the air intake. The lavender is wonderful!
