Amara vs F30 vs DreamWear Full Face

Post by LoLoJ » Fri Nov 15, 2019 9:11 pm

I am a new CPAP user and a nasal mask is NOT working for me. Trying to decide between these 3 options:
-Amara View
-AirFit F30
-DreamWear Full Face

I am primarily a side sleeper and pressure level average is 12.
Also a mix of nose and mouth breather.
With the nasal mask I experienced extreme ear pressure (similar to after airplane travel) and just feel like I am drowning in air.

I've had all 3 of these, 1st was Amara then Dreamwear, and the final and forever was F30. I really liked the Amara until i got the F30, then after that, Amara was impossible to use anymore, F30 knocked it out.

The Dreamwear is innovative and comfortable, there are things I like about it, I just recently had the opportunity to try out again, and its still just kinda mediocre for me, doable, but not great.

I now use F30 exclusively.

Good luck!
Yay :D For no more diaphragm cramps and dozing off while driving!

I've also used all three. It's going to be a matter of what's most comfortable for you.

I started with Amara View, used it for over a year and had no issues until I had problems with leaks waking me up. Couldn't resolve that even with new headgear, different size cushion and trying all kinds of strap adjustment.

Next I tried Dreamwear but that was not for me even a little bit.

F30 AirFit was very good, liked that more than Amara View, and that seemed to be the answer - until leaking again. And different size masks (small & medium), adjusting headgear, etc., nothing helped so I just used it anyway vs. giving up on CPAP.

Then someone on the forum offered an F20 AirTouch mask to try. Been using that now for over 6 months. It's full-face, over the top of the nose, not a hybrid like Amara View or F30. But it works the best for me! It has a memory foam liner, super comfortable resting on my face. It fits into the exact same headgear as the F30, so all you'd need to buy is the cushion to try it.
So I highly recommend AirTouch F20 with the memory foam liner.

I’ve tried the Dreamwear and the F30. The Dreamwear hose attachment on the head was my favorite part. However, I have found the F30 to be a better mask for me. It seals around my nose better than compared to the Dreamwear.

the Amara view got me started in accepting cpap therapy . it was really successful where I was sleeping all night with a mask . pm me as I may have an option for you to help you decide . finding the right mask is the toughest part of the journey .
