this post is in regards to how the forum tracks new replies. in particular, how it tracks my new replies.
as we know, when we make a reply to a thread, we can see that immediately if we refresh our screens. obviously, we see ourselves as the last poster. (duh!) but also, the forum indicates we've posted in the thread by putting a read star where the avatar of the original poster sits.
this is very handy after i've completed a session, then go about my business, come back on at a later time and say "oh yeah, i want to see how that went." and i'll check those threads.
well, something started happening around monday of this week. sometimes, i would make a post in response. but it wouldn't show up with a red star. at first, i blamed this, somehow, on zombie threads that came back to life. in fact, in some cases, i HAD replied, but it didn't show a red star. but i hadn't taken any screen shots so i didn't have any of my work to show.
now, i've noticed something some what different-
i've replied to several today in the same session. but the only time a red star shows is when there is NO avatar present. i honestly can't say if this happened before or if it started monday or ???
has this always been the case and i'm just now noticing it because i'm more alert to the red stars?

It has always been that way--only marks those without an avatar.

AH! very good, grasshopper. then it's down to me to be smart enough to remember the time of my last session to avoid confusing myself, which is alarmingly easy to do.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:30 pmThe forum software has always behaved this way.
