Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
After another night in the sleep lab I got an APAP machine.
Will test it a few days and then come back for help I am assuming.

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Ok, I am back after recovery from some naughty cold and want to see if we can do something to improve my settings.
I am attaching the last two nights.
First: 4-16, Second: 4-17.
EPR is -2 and the "Sensitivity" Setting is normal.
General Observation for me is that in the morning (5am) times I getting waked up because the Mask is leaking and creating fart-type noises around my nose.
What I usually do then is turn the Resmed off and on again to start with a lower pressure again and fall asleep again for the last hour.
I pulled the straps tighter but it's getting pretty uncomfortable now.
As I have lost a bit weight, noticeable also in the face, so I have ordered another mask (Amara View) to see if I can improve things there.
But generally it makes me thing is 16/17 is too high at all.
What can I try next ?

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Your settings are minimum of 7 with EPR of 2 and max of 16 or 17 depending on the night.
I don't know where you came up with 4-16 or 4- 17.
Anyway...you need more minimum pressure...probably around 9 or 10.

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Ah sorry, I mixed the numbers.
You are correct, 7-16 / 7-17 is/was correct.
Ok will try 10-16 next two nights.

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Hello,
I am really feeling tired and devastated and don't know what to do to improve my situation or what to do at all with myself.
There are a few 40 seconds duration breathing stops in the data - that's ridiculous.
I am adding another screenshots of three nights.
There are some notes to be added:
a) I am usually wearing a "crunching seem" for my bruxism problem during the night. Except the night of 12-March-2019. There I forgot it.
Don't know if it's the reason why the AHI was so high during the night.
b) I know all experts write that I should not pull the mask straps too tight. But I have to do that in order to keep the mask free from leaking and start creating fart noises. I start the mask leakage test which goes up to 16 and then I need a lot of tightening on the straps. In the morning I have a lot of signs in my face from the straps. As alternative mask I have received the Amara View yesterday. Not used it for now and wait.
c) Can it be that 16 is too high and forcing my mouth to open ? When I do the mask test it's really tough to have the mouth "closed". I have a lot of dry mouth
recently since moving to APAP with 16 as new high pressure. Before I was on 13 with CPAP.
Hoping that you have some ideas what to try.

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Remove the 16 max pressure limitation...set the max to 20.
Let's see what the machine can do to break up those clusters when it's hands aren't tied.

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Question about the Fitbit sleep stage monitoring - I take a low dose beta blocker for palpitations. Consequently my heart rate always stays around 45-50 throughout the night, according to my oximeter. Would that invalidate the Fitbit monitoring of sleep stages? I never had an in-lab sleep study, just a home study, so I do not know much about my sleep stages and was wondering whether the Fitbit would be useful for me.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: Sleepheros sleep-improvement Thread
Your Fitbit information depends on what unit you have. If you have had it for quite some time, it will only measure movement. If you don't move, it is assumed you are sleeping.
Newer units also track heart rate and look for heart rate variability. If you are artificially controlling your heart rate, this information may not be accurate. I don't know if it is possible to download the raw data from a sleep session. If you can do that you can further evaluate the raw data.
Here is some more information...

Looking better....now tonight try 11 minimum with the 20 maximum...probably will need around 12 finally but lets see what 11 minimum does.
