Yes! Tell me more! -Bev # : )
Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regrets; for I am far surer of what is kind, than I am of what is true.
I really feel for you, buddy. As I said, it is going to suck but....
This too shall pass
Just got to give it time. The first week will be rough I am sure.
Since it is done, there is nothing you can do about it now but follow the doctor's instructions.
I didnt think we would hear from you today but I am glad we did. Please keep us updated. I care.

Agreed with the others that have had this. I feel for you.
I had mine done 5 yrs ago, and it was the longest recovery. I had nose bleeds constantly. I actually had a nose bleed while holding my wifes hand as they were delivering my daughter. The Drs/nurses were freaking out seeing all my blood.
Got into my ENT and had the EXPERIENCE of having him cartorize (sp?) my nose. This after 2 weeks of of almost daily bleeds...
Worst pain of my life.. I am really glad he didn't tell me what was coming!!!!
I am glad now, but it was so bad for me I didn't finish with my OSA diagnosis for another 5 yrs

Just ate my second bowl of soup and watched a movie this afternoon. Changed the gauze under my nose about 5 times. Constant drip of blood.
After taking pain meds I tried napping. That didn't work, my apnea kicked in on a regular basis. I guess the part I'm dreading the most is no CPAP machine for at least two days. My ENT told me I could try it went I wanted to. I'm thinking leave it alone tonight and tomorrow night and then maybe try it Sunday.
Got my grey Hybrid headgear from Cpap.com today. They sent it UPS overnight since I asked for it when I ordered my Hybrid but got the old style.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really appreciate them and I promise I will return the favor when I get back in shape.

Jeff,
I feel your pain (or at least I felt it last week). The first two days are the roughest. I know that you don't feel like it, but the sooner you can start with the saline spray the better. Yes, I know it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere, just dripping right out. but it will help to keep things clean. Just don't make the saline yourself, the bottled stuff is better. The Ocean brand will give a very fine spray, while the Ayr brand is a bit more coarse, but delivers more. It's my favorite.
What I liked to do was spray each nostril several times then immediately lie back with the moustache bandage and just let the saline soak in. Yeah, I was changing the moustache bandage probably 10 times or more each of the first two days.
I didn't sleep much the first two days. Firstly because I was afraid to go into the apnea thing, and secondly because I wanted to head my head as elevated above my heart as possible.
I didn't do much of anything except watch movies, eat soup, watch TV for the first 40 hours or so. So take it real easy, it will get better.
By the way, Did you doctor install splints?

Tried sleeping in the recliner last nite for about an hour and that didn't work. Like I said, my doc told me to try my cpap if I wanted to so I did. I turned the pressure down to 10.5 / 12 figuring I didn't want to blow too hard in there and actually slept on the APAP from about 2:00 to 8:00. I am so excited! I actually got more air than before. When I looked at my card this morning my AI's were only 0.4 and I was on pain meds during the night.
I may be just lucky, and I hate to celebrate too soon, but pretty much everybody I know that's had their nose done by this guy says a couple of days and you are OK. Two that I know had it done on a Friday and went back to work Monday. He's a pretty old guy that has done a bunch of these.
He told my GF that he was really happy with mine and I should be able to breath better real soon.
I'm not even leaking that much blood today and hardly had any on my nasal pillow this morning.
