Need advise on Dreamstation

Post by Judge_Cain » Sat Aug 04, 2018 8:58 pm

So i am a new cpap user and have used it about a week. This is a 'learning' machine and after the week was up, it ramped it up to 14.5 which was very overwhelming and I couldn't even use it last night because I couldn't figure out how to turn the damn thing down. i looked online now and I think i know how to but is there anyway i can make it reset it's learning curve?

What pressure range is the machine set for? 4cm to 20cm?

Yes.
Your machine is likely in A-Trial or C-Check mode. You can verify and change the Cpap Mode and settings by entering the Clinician Menu.
I am going to post links to the User Manual and the Clinician Manual which is a website link to copy and paste into your browser. If these fail then a google search for these manuals will direct you to them.

If you need more help with this just post again on this same thread and we will help you through the process.

In general, you should set the max to lower than the machine max if either of the following are the case:

1) Pain or discomfort (including leaks and noises) at the higher pressures. Note that leaks and noises are only a problem if they are bothersome, or if the leak is beyond the machine's capacity to compensate.
2) "Clear Airway" events that appear to be associated with the higher pressures.

This is the link to the clinician manual for checking and chageing your settings.
I noticed that both previous links were to the User manual. (oops)
