CPAP pressure

Hi, a couple of months ago I was diagnosed with borderline severe sleep apnea.

Since I haven’t met my insurance deductible for the year I was able to obtain some equipment from my dad who gave up on CPAP , it is a Phillips Respironics system One auto.

I tried the Quattro full mask and didn’t like it, but it seemed to deliver the best air supply.

Then I tried a nose only mask and it worked well but again was very uncomfortable, I bought the dreamwear nasal pillow system and it was much more comfortable

The issue I’m having is it seems like the pressure is a little less than I would want with that mask, when I put it on it’s putting out 6.0 and when I wake up and look it’s still putting out 6.0

On the other masks it seemed to show 8.4 etc, I know it’s an auto but feel I need a little more pressure and don’t know if there is a way to fix this issue with the equipment I have.

I do feel like I’m sleeping much better with the CPAP , I’m just hoping some of you seasoned vets could chime in on this issue and this dreamwear product.

If it's an auto, it can be set to auto or fixed (cpap) pressure. How is your machine set and what are the pressure settings?

Go over to apneaboard.com, there's a link at the top of the page on how to request a manual for your machine by email.

Find out whether you've got a 60 series or 50 series first... take the water tank out, turn it over, and look for the REF number on the blower.

if it's a 550, then you want the 50 series manual, if it's a 560, then you want the 60 series manual.

I figured out how to adjust the minimum pressure on you tube , I’m going to bring it up 1 at a time and see if that helps

You don't have the manual that I'm telling you to get. You have the USER manual, what I'm telling you to get is the CLINICAL manual. Which not only tells you how to get into the clinical menu, but tells you what all the settings mean.
