Weird feeling during the day - headache/naussia using CPAP
HI folks,
I was just wondering .. in general I am feeling ALOT better after being on CPAP for a few weeks.
But I have this weird " yukkie " feeling the whole day especially after I wake up. It seems to be related to how much I use the CPAP - in the beginning I was only using it 4-5 hours a night and I did NOT have this feeling. Now that I am using it more and more as I get used it - the weird nausea is getting worse. It also takes me AGES to wake up in the morning / dopey / sleepy for 1-2 hours after I wake up - and since I feel nauseous I don't want to eat or drink anything. Could it be dehydration - I do have a humidifier ?
tx
Ivan.

It's great that you are seeing an improvement, but in view of the things that aren't going so well, hopefully you can confirm that your therapy is optimized or make any needed adjustments. Any number of things could be going on. For instance, it may be that when you sleep more you have more REM and have more events during REM. But your first step will be in looking at exactly what is going on while you sleep. There are people here who can walk you through how to check any available data. Nausea can be a problem when air gets into the belly instead of the lungs. Are you noticing more belching or passing gas? Good luck with sorting things out.

Which model of what machine are you using? What mask please? And what are your settings? Do you think you might be blocking the CO2 vent on your mask with bedding, etc. overnight?

Do you mean nausea?

Wow, it continues to amaze me how "helpful" some people are when they want to take on the spelling police role or the riot police role and that's the only roles they want to take on.
I am also wondering if the yuckie feeling might be related to aerophagia. The couple of times I had that ugly aerophagia monster come visiting me...I was sick to my stomach all the next day and just miserable in general. Not a lot of pain really but just felt awful with the nausea and stuff.

Pleece note that EYE am thuh speling puhlease round hear!
Are you taking any medications? Getting enough effective sleep can change your body to the point that you need to check with your doc to see if any doses of any drugs you take need to be adjusted.sakurasanta86 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:12 pm. . . yukkie " feeling the whole day . . . related to how much I use the CPAP . . . getting worse. . . . Children, behave.
Tell me, is your goal here to end up on everyone's foe list, since you haven't contributed a *single* useful comment, instead just a constant flow of mildly annoying drivel?

Absolutely not! The person said, "naussia". I got it -- wonder why you didn't and had to comment on it. I guess you thought this forum was a speling and punkuation claess.

Actually, the "creative" spelling might be a tad more descriptive.
It sounds a bit more urgent, and maybe a little sour.
Somebody fetch a bucket, please.

I've only had airophagia (sp?) once, so I won't comment on that. When I get that sleepy/dopey thing going on and it clears up after a couple of hours, usually it's because my humidity is just a little bit too high. This happens to me a lot lately with the switch between Spring and Winter and snow melting (higher humidity) going on. It doesn't FEEL like my sinus cavities are congested, so it took me awhile to figure it out.
