How long do machines last. I have a Resmed Airsense 10 Auto that is 11 months old and it’s died on me. Unfortunately is does not have any warrantee. So for me I think the cost of repairs (estimated about $500 +) is not worth it. So to all those people that have their old machines for many years, don’t expect the new machines to last as long.

Resmed machines have a 2yr warranty so send it back to your supplier for repair replacement..

My S8 lasted about 9 years (about 30000 hours) and is currently on its last legs.

My wife's S9 is at 10,000 hours and going strong as far as I can tell.

My old one (that I no longer use) is thirteen years old an still works fine. It is not an automatic and is not data capable, so it is only here in case of emergency. FYI, it is an F&P HC-231.

You should get one that is automatic and data-capable.

You did not say how old it is. When you get a new one, keep the old one as a backup and run it for a few hours every so often.

There are always outliers Johnyfalco. How could your machine be out of warranty? It's warranted by the manufacturer for 2 years from time of purchase.

Heck, my machine has hit the floor 3 or 4 times and it still operates well.

My last machine is 12 years old. Still runs. Resmed S8 elite.

I wanted an apap and my old machine was loud. Plus I just had the faintest feeling that it had started to sound a little different. I dont know. I might be paranoid. My husband swears it sounds the same as it always has. lol

So I replaced it. But it still lives in my closet as a backup.
The user can hear the machine better than the person sleeping on the other side of the bed. You are closer and also the hose and mask conduct noise.

How long do machines last ?? My Resmed Autoset 10 lasted 11 months, and due to circumstances it was NOT under warrantee.
Cost to repair was $600 so its basically a throwaway.
I will not be purchasing another Resmed.

Dropped it? got water in it?

Good luck with an inferior brand.

No. It started making a wirring sound like something was stuck in the impeller.
I have rented a F&P sleepstyle auto, while the Resmed was in for a quote, and my average AHI has gone from 5 on my Resmed machine, to 2 on the F&P. And I feel MUCH better when I wake up in the morning using the F&P. Only disadvantage for me with the F&P is you can’t get any detailed information off the machine. It’s incompatible with sleepyhead. But I like the new style humidifier on the SleepStyle Auto.
