Hybrid testing

Post by DreamStalker » Sat Sep 30, 2006 4:20 pm

I started playing around with the Hybrid again and last night I got about 3 hours on it before I took it off. I had it on rather tight in order to mitigate leaks which I had under control for about the first 30 minutes of sleep. My data shows that after first 30 minutes, the leaks increased and pressure was up near the max setting of my APAP (min = 8.4 & max = 12.6). I was impressed with an AI of zero for the entire 3 hour period. After the 3 hours with the Hybrid, I woke with a sore jaw likely due to tight headgear and I also had frequent arousals due to large leaks. My APAP even turned off a few times due the severity of the leaks (see chart below).

I stayed up for almost 2 hours afterwards then put on my Breeze and slept for another 5 hours which resulted in two apnea events with a total AHI for the whole night of 2.8 and an AI of 0.2.

My leaks are coming from the mouth cushion and not the nasal pillows. I do have a beard and hope that will not cause the failure of the Hybrid for me. The data seems to indicate great AHI numbers with the Hybrid but I don’t know if they are biased as a result of the high leaks and/or CO2 washout.

Anyway, I will try again tonight and perhaps for a couple of more weekends before I give up on it. I will say that both Hybrid and Breeze interfaces do provide me with lots of dreamtime. My sleep study indicated a REM latency of 72 minutes and my wife will vouch for the fact that it takes me less than 15 minutes to go into a sound sleep.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
