Ok, so last night, I realized that for sure my machine has a major leak. There was water everywhere. I'm going to take it back to the DME tomorrow. I'm thinking of maybe trying to get a different machine since they have to exchange it anyway....I want one that will record the sleep data so I can review it and see how I'm doing. Any suggestions as to what kind to get? It's all very confusing to me still. Thanks in advance!
New Machine???

I'm all for you getting a different (data recording) machine, but if you've had the humidifier chamber apart, it may not have gotten put together right and is causing the leak. You have to put the base of the humidifier on a flat surface and push the top down on it with a pretty good amount of pressure. Be careful not to break the plastic top, but it does require a bit of pressure to get sealed properly.
My next suggestion is to not take it apart again. My original humidifier from my Pro 2 has never been taken apart in 16 months..
Best wishes,
Den

Even if it turns out just the humidifier I would still try to get a new machine.
I would try to get the Remstar Auto

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body totally worn out and screaming,WOO HOO what a ride!

I agree with tooly. Try for the REMstar Auto with C-flex. Either the smaller "M" series size or the regular size.

Humidifier Open or Closed?
Just to let you know:
The humidifier for the ResMed S8 series does not open at all. We have a yellow plastic cover for it. We fill it with soapy water (detergent water, really) and shake it with the cover.
It would seem that there should not be a problem with keeping yours intact....IMHO--but I don't have experience with your machine.
