Mask Setting on Resmed S8 Vantage for Hybrid Mask

Could someone tell me what "mask setting" I should use on my machine? Does it matter?

I got the mask yesterday and my wife thought I was going to use it last night. However, having been a cpap user with the Swift mask for the past year, I didn't want to get overly optimistic given what my own experience has been and from what I've read about this particular mask (i.e. it needs tweaking both in fit and headgear development). Besides, I was really tired and cranky and I didn't want to have to fiddle with this new mask and then get a poor night's sleep...Better to do this in the morning when I can focus!!!

Tonight will be my first venture. I want to make it as positive as I can.

Try full mask setting.

Have you used the Hybrid mask? I noticed you list it as a "standby".

Yes I have ... used Hybrid for about 9 days. I got high leak rates and high AHI numbers according to data dump at follow-up visit w/ doc ... yet I felt I was getting the same or better sleep results as I had with first few days on Swift.

During follow-up visit, I had doc switch out my CPAP for an APAP and this time I'm establisihg a baseline of data with the Swift first. I then intend to use the baseline data as a reference to more objectively study and compare the effectiveness of the Hybrid relative to the Swift.

The full mask setting is a catch all for full face masks and allows for maximum exhaust flow rates (for ResMed masks anyway ).
