Seems since using my CPAP for this first week that it seems that my skin seems to have become "oily". I take a shower before sleep. The environment is conducive to sleep with house temp at 70. I am not uncomfortable but I wake up and can wipe the oil off my face, not just in the area where the nose pillow rests but on my neck, ears, forehead, eyelids . . .
Looking at the constants:
I have not changed bathing soap.
I have not changed diet, actually reduced fat intake.
I have not changed the sleeping arrangements at all.
No air leaks in mask.
No change in any medication.
Anyone experience anything like this?
Is this something I should consider as a serious condition?

Apologies as I would like to also add that I have a heated tube but am not heating the tube and humidity is on lowest setting.
I am using a Respironics Dreamstation Pro with humidifier and a Dreamwear mask.

Sleep apnea generally causes hormonal dysregulations. Treating your OSA thus will likely cause your hormones levels to shift.
Solution?
You can wait and let your hormones reach homeostasis and see if the oily skin goes away.
You can try an epi-genetitc approach and slather more oil (olive and/or coconut) all over your skin to trick your skin into thinking that it is producing too much oil.
Or you can just keep washing it off.
Androgen hormones are generally responsible for the oil secretions from your skin. Do some research on androgen hormones and see if there are natural non-drug approaches to balancing them or just wait and let them balance themselves out on their own.

Personally, I would put up with the oil and let it balance out on its own. Being a male, androgen hormones will help get your wood back for some serious rides .... ye haaaa!
