All hours sleeping not being acreditted.

Post by Bridgewater2010 » Tue Apr 12, 2016 1:06 pm

So I went for my DOT physical and found out I am not within compliance. So i readjusted my sleep schedule so that i can get back in compliance. But here is the thing, i found out that my machine is not crediting me with all the hours i am actually asleep. The first night I slept 9 hours, but was only credited with 6. The next night I slept for 6 hours and was only credited with 3.6. The next night i slept for 6 hours and was only given 4.8. Is this normal or is my machine needing repaired? And then there is the Adherence score on my readout, which says I have 70% (21/30)? Does anyone know about this?

why oh why do people post things like this, with *no* useful information whatsoever?

no hint of what kind of machine they're using, no hint of why they think the machine isn't giving them proper accounting of hours, just "why ain't it working"?

It depends on the time of day you look. Some change day at noon.

You best bet is to install Sleephead software and do some print outs.

Yes can you imagine calling a mechanic "My vehicle is making a funny noise. What is the problem?" Seriously are you talking about a bicycle, a motorbike, a car, a truck? You think the answer is going to be the same?

I remember the first time I slept past noon . . .
"WTF is going on here? I KNOW I slept over nine hours, and this machine says I only slept 20 MINUTES!"

Yup!!! Been this way since the forum started. They want answers but offer absolutely no information to go on.

BlackSpinner already offered the vehicle analogy, so for a person trying to comply with a DOT physical, I guess that should hit home with this driver.

I wonder if the OP can tell us what type of rig they drive, what engine it has in it and how many wheels it has.
Same principle here.

But, to the OP, "compliance" is considered a minimum of 4 hours per night for 70% of the nights.
And, it also depends on what hours you're using it, whether you're sleeping past noon (the "day" goes from noon to noon).
Even if you're sleeping past noon, the time past that should transfer to the next day's total.

And, the OP already sort of asked about the hours in a post to this thread.

I have a PR BiPAP Pro Bi-flex System One and it has started to not record all my sleep time for about 6 weeks or so. I go to bed about 12:30 am and wake up about 8:30am. I do have to get up once or twice a night to let my older dog outside. I don't know if turning it off twice triggers it to not record or what. I called the DME Co and they where no help. It doesn't do it all the time, maybe once or twice a week. I am getting an ASV Machine soon since I am having a lot of central apneas. If it keeps doing it ask to get a different machine if it is still under warranty or insurance should cover to fix it and your DME Co. should lend you one to use while yours is being repaired. Good luck!
