Finally bought Capp
well 6mths of hiring I finally purchased resumed s10 auto $2,600. Ouch. Bought fixed pressure first, $1000 cheaper, but it just pumped me so full of air. Constant adjustment.lucky I was able to get auto set. I sleep well with that. Was using swift fx nasal pillows, ended up with nose infection.and been a mouth breather,it's hard to get in enough air. My humid setting was low 2. Was nice but really dried out my nose, I used paw paw cream, fez oil and lanolin. All different times of course but I was a bit late high humid blocks my nose, funny that. . So I bought a air fit 10 full face.$299. Now if I can stop drooling I will be fine, going to try chin strap with face mask to see if the dribble slows down. Done the cloth cutouts, tissues in the mask choke choke.remzzz so expensive. Best sleep has been with nasal pillows, got some prescription cream to clear my nose, might take a few days. It's so hard trying to sleep without CPAP Anyway I hope forum people can put this in the right section, sorry if it's been posted on the wrong thread

Re: Finally bought Capp
You might try a soft cervical collar instead of a chin strap with the full face mask. It will support your jaw without putting backwards pressure that sometimes increases obstructive events.
It is also a good idea to get software to report on the effectiveness of your therapy so you'll have data needed to see if changes in pressure are needed or helpful. SleepyHead may work on the 10 series machines (I think I've seen comments about issues with the way it works with the new line) but ResScan certainly will.

Re: Finally bought Capp
Sleepyhead works perfectly fine with my 10 autoset. If you are a true mouth breather the full face mask may be the best answer for you. I open my mouth and try and breathe through it some nights and others I do not. I wasn't going to go the chin strap route, but sometimes it does go beyond the limit that I believe is acceptable so the chin strap was the solution for me. I hate the added headgear. I love my Airfit p10 for the minimal headgear and the chin strap adds a lot more than I would like. I also have a beard so the chin strap is rubbing the whiskers a little and causes very minor discomfort when I first wake up. Hang in there and keep trying and you will find what works for you. Now people that are way more informed and intelligent than I will be here to help soon I am sure.

Re: Finally bought Capp
I'm wondering why your machine cost so much!? Yowza. On cpap.com, for instance, the ResMed AS10 is $883, and the AirFit F10 full face mask is $149. Or are those the prices with insurance?

Go figure - I can walk while chewing gum but apparently I can't quite grasp breathing while sleeping.

Re: Finally bought Capp
Thanks for the clarification. I don't have a ResMed so I could only go on remembered posts.CaptainRaven40 wrote:Sleepyhead works perfectly fine with my 10 autoset.
