Anthem BCBS - needed to show compliance to order supplies

Hello All,

I received my quarterly therapy check phone call AKA supply call from SleepMed who is my DME. I ordered a few things (first time this year) and thought all was well. I get a call back from them stating that Anthem BCBS is requiring both a 30 day and a 90 compliance report before they will approve my request. This is the first time in nearly 4 years they have requested this. SleepMed wanted me to mail my SD card to them so they could read it. Ah, not going to play that game. I copied the report summaries out of Encore Basic and sent it to them and apparently that is good enough.

Anyone else have to provide compliance data to order supplies?

Every insurance has their own rules...Even BCBS is different by state.

I haven't had that problem but I don't have Anthem BCBS but I can say that I have seen a notice right at the front desk of my DME addressing this very issue about compliance requirements. I don't remember all the details but it goes something like "Attention BCBS patients...due to BCBS new compliance requirements we need so and so before we can fulfill replacement cpap supply requests". That notice has been posted for quite some time.
There's a couple of other companies too with similar notices that I don't remember the names but the BCBS notice is right at my eye level so I always see it first....so I remembered it.
