Re: Testing the waters
It is an old machine. There have been two series released since that series, the S9 series and the AirSense 10 series.
$300 is way too much for something that its that old.

Re: Testing the waters
My personal opinion is $150 for the machine and $50-$75 for the extras.

Re: Testing the waters
It's an S8, so as Krelvin said its an older somewhat outdated machine, however it is considered by many to be a good machine for a backup or travel unit so you might get lucky and find someone that wants it for a travel machine because it's relatively small without the humidifier and it's easier than the new machines in the Resmed line to power from a 12 volt battery. I agree with LSAT....$150 is probably a fair price, looks like it's in nice condition.

Re: Testing the waters
So $150 for just the the machine including the humidifier? and $75 for the rest? So I should look at possibly getting $200. Thanks for everyone's help.LSAT wrote:My personal opinion is $150 for the machine and $50-$75 for the extras.

Re: Testing the waters
The mask might be worth something but the hoses are cheap ($4-$6 ea) and the filters are cheap as well and machines come with them as part of the package. Leave them as separate, then lower you price on the machine by that much.
$75 is too much for a used mask (considered used because it is not sealed). Brand new from an online shop like CPAP.com you can get same the mask with a warranty for $78. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher ... -mask.html
You can offer no warranty or service for what you are selling so you have be less, not equal in price.

Re: Testing the waters
We know the retail prices - all we have to do is look on Cpap.com. But you'd probably do better if you wrote in a smaller font - it feels like you're yelling at us.

Re: Testing the waters
WHY are you trying to sell that stuff?
Why aren't you using it?
Other "issues" with those old ResMed S8 machines are the lack of card readers to read the data card and many of the machines don't even have the data card in them. Plus, the data cards themselves are nearly impossible to find anywhere now. They also require ResScan software (can't use SleepyHead software) IF the card and reader can be obtained, otherwise the only data is from the LCD screen, which is limited.
Those old auto machines also used the A10 algorithm which didn't pursue many events above the pressure of 10 cm. (hence the name of the algorithm). They had limited effectiveness when used in auto mode and were probably better used as straight/fixed pressure CPAP machines.
Some machines from that generation also had other problems, too. But, like anything else, it's "the luck of the draw".
My "guess-timation" would be about $100 (at the most).

Re: Testing the waters
Why would you open the package for sizing? The size is stated on the package and someone on Cpap either knows what size they want or how to find out by using a guide.

To see the mask fits my face and if it is comfortable or not. For example I use a Large face mask but a small nose pillow. Get it?OkyDoky wrote:Why would you open the package for sizing? Re: Testing the waters
When I got issued the S8 I tried it for over a week and then stopped because I didn't like it. Now I have a new machine that I actually use so I am getting rid of the old one.Wulfman... wrote:WHY are you trying to sell that stuff?
