Respironics System One heated hose problem

Post by redpenner » Tue Mar 24, 2015 9:33 pm

I'm on my second hose with my CPAP and both hoses had the same problem: sometimes they heat up, and sometimes they don't. I'm aware of the difference in how the hose feels depending on ambient temperature, but the hose is definitely not working a lot of the time. Sometimes if I "jiggle" the connection to the humidifier lid, the hose goes to work; other times, I "jiggle" it and still no heat. Of course, because it works sometimes, I have to keep trying and I end up not sleeping. I've blown on the pins and sockets to make sure there's no dust or debris in there, and sometimes that helps and sometimes it doesn't. The humidifier itself seems to be working fine, warming up and the water's going down at a consistent rate. I usually have the humidification set at 2 or 3. Any suggestions?

What is your bedroom temp?
What is the temperature setting that you have selected for the heated hose?
How are you determining that the hose isn't heating up at all?
