Friday, I posted about one of the worst nights I have had since starting all of this back in September. What was driving me crazy was that 10 days earlier, I had one of the best nights I had ever had.
Sleeprider looked at my graphs of the two days and thought that the issue might be hypopnea and low pressure. THANK YOU.
At least for two nights, I am definitely going in the right direction. Hypopnea events have dropped. It appears that I need something below 8 events.
While I woke up three times, both nights, I was rested in the morning.
The waking seems to be totally related to mask fit. I have an ESON mask. Minor leaks that were mainly whistling type noises. Adjust the mask, and back to sleep.
Can't remember where, but on this forum, I came across a post on a Quattro mask and fitting it. It lead me to a site that essentially explained that the directions that F&P give for mask adjustment were poor, at best.
Instead of adjusting the mask while you're standing, you started off by laying on your back, no matter how you sleep. Then with all of the straps totally loose, you turn your machine on and then start tightening the straps. You tighten the straps JUST ENOUGH to stop leaks, no more. That way the two different silicones at the nose don't simply totally collapse and you lose the "balloon" effect (don't know what else to call it).
I'm going to guess, that many people are like me and follow the F&P directions. Then when you get leaks, you simply keep tightening and tightening the straps. Eventually you simply have the mask totally collapsed and tight against your face. At that point, I start getting sores on the bridge of my nose, etc. Just never seems to fit right. The new way is dramatically different.
Oh. late the week before I received by buckwheat pillow. Just another thing that seems to be adding to the solution. I thank you folks for that also.
Fit and low pressure . . . Only two days, but . . .

Thanks for the tip. I've also had issues with leaks with the Eson. Going to try this tonight

Biggest thing that I came away with is that you need the silicone portion of the mask inflated as much as possible.
I certainly didn't get that from the F&P directions.
