Can CPAP really drop your AHI this much?

Post by Murkk » Mon Jun 19, 2006 9:11 am

I had ~57 AHI when I was in my sleep study. My S8 vantage has been reporting me at 1 AHI the last few nights. Is it plausible it's doing that, or is it just missing a lot of AHI that a sleep study would find?

Yep! It's plausible.
My AHI during my sleep study was in excess of 70 and within a few nights of starting on CPAP, I was down in that range, too.

Glad to hear your therapy is working for you.

Best wishes,

Let's say, you put a noose around your neck and tighten it up, (To simulate a closed airway.

Then, you remove the noose, (To simulate CPAP treatment)

Could you breath more freely without the noose? I can!

My AHI was 450, during a 3 hour sleep period, if you could call that sleep.

Now I am usually under AHI 1.5 AVG. If it doesn't work, it's a sure sign something is working. Jim

Great results. The acid test is how are you feeling?
If you've not yet noticed an improvement, be confident that if your AHI stays around 1, then you will
