It would help if you registered your equipment (Link on how to in my signature block).
When the machine is first plugged in, the display shows the firmware revision number.

To get the model number, first remove the humidifier tank, then turn your machine over and look on the bottom for the label, there should be a number that looks like "REXxxx" or DSxxx". The xxx is the model number. Please include that number in your next post.

It would also help if you would clarify "update". Do you mean getting the latest firmware loaded into the machine?
