I am happy to announce that my CPAP machine is working wonderfully again. I could not use it for months. It's amazing how a pep talk from a doctor can turn things around. I am wearing the mask for hours on end now. I am feeling more clear headed. My question is, how long before I see optimum benefits as a result of using my CPAP machine?
Also, do teenagers who are not overweight suffer from sleep apnea?
Thanks

Good for you getting back on the machine. Not possible to tell how long it will take to see optimum (whatever that may mean for you) benefits, because there are so many variables, and because different people respond differently. Just keep using it and one day you will say "my, I have had no x for a long time" at which point you know it is working well.AnotherMe wrote:I am happy to announce that my CPAP machine is working wonderfully again. It is possible for anyone to have sleep apnea. As a teenager I probably had sleep apnea - waking up in the night, snoring, nightmares, etc. No such thing as diagnosis back then. I was a beanpole-skinny kid. Now I am not so much of a beanpole, and considerably older, but have lost some weight recently (deliberately). I still have sleep apnea, but it is now being treated successfully. Life is good.

I am wondering if I should start using a Didgeridoo and getting one for the teenager I speak about. I heard it really does help with snoring. My doctor was impressed that I knew about it. The wonders of Google.

This is not just a "Your Mileage May Vary", it's more like "Your Mileage WILL Vary".AnotherMe wrote:I am happy to announce that my CPAP machine is working wonderfully again. Glad to hear of your success and the pep talk from your doctor.
This can (for some) be "days", "weeks" or "months".
It's all "baby steps". It can seem like "Groundhog Day", but some day you should realize the effects.....either that "OH YEAH!" moment......or the gradual improvements will be evident.
Hang in there.
