Re: SleepWeaver Issues
I wear my sleepweaver pretty loose. It works better for me when it isn't tight. I wear an eye mask on the outside of my sleepweaver. This keeps everything in place and stops the leaks for me.

Re: SleepWeaver Issues
I do have an eye mask somewhere - thanks, Stormynights - I'll dig it out and add that to my equipment when I try the SW again Friday night. I believe that will solve the air squirting in my eyes as when I put even the lightest pressure to the top of the inflated part of the SW the leak stops.
Perhaps the 'pantyhose trick' or ace bandage might hold the mask a tad firmer to my face.
Starting to feel like hubby will mistake me for a mummy....
Cheers,
xena

Re: SleepWeaver Issues
Thanks, Stormynights! I bought 2 really comfy sleep eye masks on Saturday and both helped a lot with the eye leaks, and I think because the eye mask held the SW a bit firmer, it lessened the leaks at the bottom.
Still a way to go before I'm as happy with the SW as with the Swift FX/Lt though.
I still see high leak rates on my data though - all around the redline area! However my AHI is still well below 1.0, so should I be worrying about the leaks?
I have mask set on nasal mask on my machine..... wondering if it would show same leaks if I left it at nasal pillow setting.....
Cheers,
xena

Re: SleepWeaver Issues
Just an update - for anyone who's interested in the SleepWeaver mask.
I almost threw in the towel, but had a small epiphany ..... decided to avoid using face moisturiser on the areas where the mask sits. This hadn't occurred to me before as this is a cloth mask, not plastic or silicone so figured it wasn't prone to those issues.
Amazingly, it made a huge difference!! I slept all night with the mask and only woke a couple of times briefly to readjust. Hardly had any leak problems like before, however my stats still register high leak rates, but I'm beginning to believe that this is just a peculiarity with this type of mask. I tried it for 3 nights with avoiding the moisturiser and 3 nights using moisturiser on my entire face, and alternated the nights to get a fairly good picture of the success of the moisturiser/no moisturiser.
I let Circadiance know of this and they were quite amazed also that moisturiser would have such an effect.
My AHIs still haven't been above 0.4 with the SleepWeaver, no matter what the leak rate is. Is there something else I should be looking for in my stats that might indicate these leak rates are detrimental to my therapy?
I'm always glad to hear of anyone who has suggestions for improvement with this mask - IMHO it's totally worth the effort to make it work.
cheers,
xena

Re: SleepWeaver Issues
I haven't been on for awhile, but wanted to search and see updates on how things were going with you and the Sleepweaver. I got mine about 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love this thing....except...for that leak line!! I haven't used mine steady as I've been working with Pugsy on some other issues, so have reverted back to nasal pillows, but was hoping to read where you had solved the problem of the eye leaks. That's seems to be the only place I noticed any leaking if and when I have some...most of the time I don't notice it, but the data sure shows it! I found out that Remzzz has sample liners so went there this morning and talked with one of their customer reps...they are sending me a sample to try and want feedback on how it works with the Sleepweaver. I am hoping this will solve any outstanding issues and the line I won't worry about as long as the rest of the numbers are good!!
I will certainly agree with you this is a mask worth figuring out how to make it work!

Thnks for your own feedback, Gaga! Let me know how the Remzzz works for you. I've asked Karen at Padacheek to design a liner for my SW, so I'm keen to know how a liner goes in the cloth mask.

Re: SleepWeaver Issues
where did you get it
xenablue wrote:I picked up my new SleepWeaver mask on Saturday morning, excited to try it out that night. I spent some time messing with it to make sure I knew how to put it on, adjust the straps etc., instead of waiting until bedtime to wrangle with this almost weightless mask. I was amazed at how comfortable it was!
First night, didn't adjust the straps very tight at all - tried to let the inflation of this mask create the seal I needed, however woke up several times to air leaking on one side just above my lip and right under my eye. That night my AHI was 0.4, but the leaks were hovering around the red line most of the night.
Second night - I adjusted the mask more snugly, didn't seem to have as many leaks or wake up as much, but data showed differently. AHI was 0.1 (YAY!), but leaks were just as bad again.
I changed my machine to a nasal mask instead of pillows. Pressure is 9.4, so pretty low.
I woke with marks on my face like indented cat whiskers LOL - a new Halloween costume idea!
I'm a side/stomach sleeper, and love the comfort of this mask right away and it doesn't seem to leak just because I change positions, it just leaks.
Not talking about the air that vents through the fabric, but, for want of a better description, 'squirts' from a couple of places around the outside.
I know there are a couple of SleepWeaver users here - and would be grateful for any advice or ideas.
Cheers,
xena
