i have been on cpap for 5 weeks now, the first 2 weeks was really bad, the 3 rd week was alittle better and the 4 th week was wonderful , i was told it could take up to a month to get used to cpap and have just finished my 5 th week and this week has not been so good . been having leaks and nothing i have done has worked. have cleaned the mask , washed my face before i go to bed, saw on sleepguide that would help the seal . don't know what else to do. the adjustment could be off and i have readjusted it several times and nothing seems to help. i lost a brother from this , lost a very dear friend last week from this illness and i am afraid to not use the mask because i know what not using could lead to. thought i would take it to my sleep lab next week and see if my dme agent could help me figure out what the problem could be.
anyone got any suggestions
thank you

Please take the time to register at the forum, then you can go to the User Control Panel (top left) then your Profile then Equipment tab and permanently add your equipment so we don't have to ask each time. Please choose text option for viewing equipment as images all look alike and are very small and requires members to go through link to figure out what you are using.ewebster wrote:anyone got any suggestions
Once we see what equipment you are using, then more specific ideas can then be offered.
As it is right now we have absolutely nothing to go on to offer any ideas.

I bid you a sad welcome to the Insomnia and CPAP club.napstress wrote: After my initial two days of success, I am back to my pattern of waking up after 2 hours. But now, at least, I am able to keep the mask on during The Insomnia Hours. That will help with compliance, anyway, even though not therapeutic.
Can you describe what goes on during The Insomnia Hours? There are things that CAN help deal with the insomnia---and not all of them involve "just take a pill". If I had some idea as to what you do when you wake up after two hours of sleep and you find yourself in the middle of The Insomnia Hours, I could give you some pointers on how to more positively deal with the insomnia than lying in bed fighting the feeling that want to take the mask off and fighting to get back to sleep.
