My description would be that of a moderate hunger pang. Located just to the left and under the xiphoid process (bottom edge of the sternum/breast bone) upper adominal area.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced aforementioned pain/discomfort as a result of XPAP therapy?
I not experiencing excessive gas/bloating/belching or anything like that...............just a feeling like a moderate hunger pang.
I am not seeking medical advice...........I do generally tend to visit someone who has what I consider the proper credentials and experience to practice medicine..........just wondering if this might be a side effect or general effect of XPAP?
Thanks

Re: anyone experience this type of PAIN ?
I don't think a tendency to visit someone with credentials is an effect of CPAP. To the contrary, from what I read hear, most of us on the forum cut way down on our visits to credentialed professionals after starting CPAP. We found out the amateurs here are much more eager to help us and offer much better advice.ChipsXJ wrote:......

But, ChipsXJ, now in a different type of serious vein, I have not heard that complaint from CPAP users except when it was CPAP pressure leaking through the esophogeal sphincters.

Re: anyone experience this type of PAIN ?
Hello, yes I have gotten the pain also. I just thought that I must of sleep on the hose or my elbow. I have COPD so I get the pain alot as I was told that the cartilage in my chest/ribs rubs as the lungs get harder. Strange but today has been a bad day so hope it is not catching. I have found that heat and an extra Tylox helps. Good luck!

I had some of that when I first started thearapy. Dr. said it was likly GERD and gave me a perscription for Famotidine (Pepcid) I only needed it for a short time. I either acclimated to the therapy, or changing to an Auto machine cleared it up. Might not be your problem just my experience.
