Help With New Resmed Aircurve 10 Settings PLEASE

Post by Gulfstream » Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:40 am

Hello All,

Today I received my new Aircurve 10 ASV which is a Medicare replacement for my recalled Dreamstation ASV.

Looking at the settings as they were set by my DME provider (and prescribed by my sleep Doc) I notice that there many fewer settings than are available on the Dreamstation. I don't know if this is good or bad but I do know that I have seen many positive opinions of the Resmed device on this and other forums.

My question is: Do these new Aircurve settings look to be reasonably close, at least as a starting point, to deliver close to the same level/quality of therapy?

I've included screenshots (I hope in a format that is suitable) of a couple of nights on my Dreamstation (obviously, no screenshots yet from the Aircurve) along with current settings from both machines.

Thank You All!!

It's a good thing, Resmed invented the ASV, and Philips has been trying to play catch-up, but likely never will, the Resmed ASV machines are simply smarter.

Well, not really. You should set the new machine to ASVAuto mode, so that it will vary it's EPAP as needed, as your other machine was supposed to do.

this will give you a MinEPAP and MaxEPAP setting, just set the MaxEPAP to 15, and set the MaxPS as high as it will let you.

Also, you were using ramp on the old machine, and have it off with the new machine. Using ramp, with the low starting pressures you have is probably counter-productive, so I'd leave it off.

Thank you Palerider!

I have made the changes you suggested and I now have access to all of the additional settings you mention. I know now that I will be able to tweak my own settings to get my best results. And yes, I'm turning off the ramp feature to give that a try.
