question about the Lumin sanitizer

Post by springman946 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 8:34 pm

this past Christmas I got the lumin sanitizer from Santa, instead of using the harmful chemical ozone it uses a UV light to kill germs unlike the so clean machine it only takes 5 minutes and its done I can sanitize anything i can fit into the drawer how effective is this machine for killing 99.9 percent of germs because I cannot wash my mash cushion in water because I have one of the newer masks with the memory foam and it CANNOT be thrown into water and cleaned.

i will take this opportunity to borrow a link from friend palerider-

please read that and then prepare yourself for a LOT of push back on these "cleaners" from the community here.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Well, several things..

first, it only sanitizes the outside of whatever you put in the thing, only where the light shines directly... so, the inside of the mask?

not sanitized.

seems kind of a waste of time.

Second... I guess you didn't read the manual that came with your newer memory foam mask:

Daily/After each use:
1. Disassemble the mask according to the disassembly instructions.
2. Rinse the frame, elbow and cushion under running water. Clean with a
soft brush until dirt is removed.

3. Soak the components in warm water (approximately 30°C) with a mild
liquid detergent for up to ten minutes.
4. Shake the components vigorously in the water for at least one minute.
5. Brush the moving parts of the elbow and around the vent holes.
6. Brush the areas of the frame where the arms connect, and inside and
outside the frame where the elbow connects.
7. Rinse the components under running water.
8. Leave the components to air dry out of direct sunlight. Make sure to
squeeze the arm

Ok, only two things.

I'm glad you got a shiny toy, but it's not all that, sorry.

Sounds to me like that mask qualifies as a second job. I'd make friends with my germs, before I did all that. Jim

Immunity needs small challenges in order to be strong.
A sterile environment is not only a waste of time, but it can make you easier to infect.
A little dirt will not kill you--but you can die trying to get rid of it all.
Entropy wins.
