I've been on Bi-PAP since March and feel fabulous! However, I have been quite lazy about cleaning the mask and tube. And I wear my mask until it seems to leak air before I replace it. I'm curious to know how others address the cleaning frequency.

Re: Frequency of cleaning Disposable Parts
Never clean the hose.
The mask (P10 nasal pillows) I wash maybe once a month if I think about it but I might go longer. Probably will wash the frame at that time but it might be 2 months depending on when I think about it.
The headgear that stretches maybe will get washed when the frame because I am too lazy to unhook it from the frame.
As you can tell...pretty lazy about the cleaning. Suits my needs.

Use things till they wear out. Clean the mask regularly, depending on how often you sneeze in it.HockeyGirl22 wrote:I've been on Bi-PAP since March and feel fabulous! Thanks Pugsy! I learned quickly not to use too much night cream where my mask goes. Did lots of cleaning then!
I generally open the humidifier each morning to allow moisture to escape. And I periodically rinse the removable tank.

Never the hose, but baby wipes on the silicone of mask seem to keep it springier, less floppy, at least every couple of wks if not weekly.

The headgear stretches out, and washing in hot, sudsy water will help restore its fit.
Long ago, I realized that obsessive washing of silicone makes it wear out faster.
Baby wipes (unscented) is enough.
I do not intend to compromise my immune system
by depriving it of the occasional practice session.
