I like the Wisp nasal mask and it works great on my nose with almost zero leaks. I especially like the firm tall sidewall that tapers into a soft outer flange, what's really great is that the firm silicone flange then curls inside to form the stiffer side supports for mask stability around the nose.
My problem is that I really need to use a full face mask due to mouth breathing (the Quattro FX is just a beast, IMO). Phillips Respironics (maker of the Wisp) sometime ago released the Amara model (which is not very popular here), however I wonder if it has similar tall sidewall construction to the Wisp? (Side Note: Has anybody got an medium or large Amara in their closet they're not using? I know tons of people have tried them. I'll pay postage etc) Anyway, any tips on a Wisp-like FFM would be greatly appreciated. Maybe F&P has something? I tried one of their FFMs masks which was popular a few years ago and the cushions seem minimal and kinda shallow at that time... not a good fit for my face. Maybe there's something new someone could recommend?
Thanks in advance. SNO
I like the Wisp but any FFMs w/that type cushion? Simplus?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Sir,
I just got the new F&P Simplus FFM in the mail today and all I can say is WOW! I got it in case I ever need a backup due to sickness and it is extremely comfortable (I can't believe I'm saying that about a FFM). I got the tip from Munkybeatz on Robysue's "Dial Wingin'" thread--he said he had never had so many patients adapt to a FFM so well before--I believe him. It seems like a "giant" Wisp. Anyone having problems with keeping their mouth closed -- I think this would be an excellent option (I sometimes have that problem.)

I agree with Loreena...the F&P Simplus FFM mask seems to be the mask that would most closely resemble the wisp type cushion. We have had good success with it using on our patients...of course, like any mask it varies from patient to patient but for the most part most patients like it and it seems to seal well. Good luck.

Thanks Loreena and teachcsg. I sort of got put off by some the old F&Ps, so with this new info I'll check out the Simplus FFM. One more question tho From your experience, do the Simplus' run about equivalent in size to ResMed FFMsteachcsg wrote:I agree with Loreena...the F&P Simplus FFM mask seems to be the mask that would most closely resemble the wisp type cushion. Sadly, I just sent in my 6 mo. order to Apria for a new Quattro FX (no love affair here ) ... therefore the Simplus will come out of my pocket. Hey, wait, I've got some stuff to trade - guess I'll head over to THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE! BTW, folks, it's not just for nasal pillows, but includes all kinds of mask.

Really? That's great news, but I don't know if I should be excited or afraid. I think I may have a problem.... my mask drawer (yes, I have an entire dresser drawer full of masks) is getting out of hand!Loreena wrote:Hey, wait, I've got some stuff to trade - guess I'll head over to THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE! That's the beauty of trading. You get rid of stuff you'll never use and get more stuff which you may or may not ever use. Oh well, I guess it depends on how you look at it. At least you'll clean your gear drawer out every so oftendjhall wrote:Really? That's great news, but I don't know if I should be excited or afraid.
