Untreated sleep apnea and insanity?

Post by SuddenlyWornOut45 » Thu Dec 12, 2013 4:58 pm

Do you believe that untreated or under treated sleep apnea can cause insanity? I believe it can cause someone to become insane.

When I dont use my machine, the way I feel...wow I cant describe it. Its like...living hell. To me, when I dont use my machine, I feel so awful I feel, well insane.

Do you believe untreated sleep apnea causes insanity?

Eric

In you...yes. You had better look up the definition of insanity, I don't think you really now what it means, if you were "insane" you would be in an asylum.

Sleep deprivation is commonly used to induce psychoses in prisoners.

Didn't the OP want to stop using their machine in another recent thread? From what they were spouting in that thread maybe they already quit using it, hence adding credence to their poser

OMG... he is at it again!

Yes, Eric... I think you ought to start using your machine. During the day also!

Exactly. Sleep deprivation is a form of torture. Prisoners will be kept awake for days, a week or more. At the "breaking point" the sleep deprivation creates a feeling that the prisoner is going to have a psychotic break (because that is exactly what is happening). Most prisoners will immediately "break" at this point and spill their guts, because one of the greatest fears is to become insane.

Untreated sleep apnea is longterm sleep deprivation, essentially. Hence, thats why I believe it can cause insanity, sometimes.

If you are really being serious, I suggest you see a competent physician, or two.

Obviously you have stopped using your machine and now are considered to have untreated sleep apnea. Yeh...You're nuts!

No, have not stopped using my machine in any manner. More the opposite, I am super compliant.

I have had periods when I would have severe leaks or my cushion would wear out and it would be a few days until I could get a new hose or cushion. When that happens, my therapy goes down the toilet and my symptoms come back. To me, it feels like hell, like...insanity.

Cushions and Hoses don't wear out overnight. Hoses can last for a year or more and cushions can last for many months. My Quattro cushion is about 7 months old. You are just looking for EXCUSES to not use your CPAP. YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A CHILD

Not having backup masks and hoses is really insane, don't you think?
